As per order No.PLD1/2939/78 dt 16-1-1979 of the University of Calicut,the Post Graduate Departments of Malayalam and Sanskrit have been recognised as Research Centres and nearly 30 part-time/ full- time Reseach Scholars are presently engaged in research.The College Development Committee constructed a Centre of Oriental Research which was inagurated by his Excellencey Sri.K.R.Narayanan,the then Vice-President of India.The centre has provisions for manuscript library, computer center, reference library and seminar hall with audiovisual facilities.

                  THE LEGACY OF BHARATHA PUZHA -A RESEARCH PROJECT

Dr.N.M.Namboodiri has taken a major project on Cultural Geography and Habitat of Nila River valley sponsored by U.G.C.It was an interdisciplinary study based on the Nila river valley spread over three districts of Kerala.Asignificant outcome of the study is the Vaniyamkulam Gazetter by the Vaniamkulam Gramapanchayath.Project was completed in October 2002
