CAREER GUIDANCE & PLACEMENT CELL
The Career Guidance & Placement Cell is constituted as per the direction of
the DCE, Government of Kerala. It is exclusively designed for providing multifarious
career and course guidance services for students at all levels. It imparts training
and arranges special programmes to different groups of students with different requirements,
thereby improving the efficiency and strength of the human resource potential of
the students. The cell is meant to
address the issue of motivation, goal setting and planning of the students in their
career advancements. It offers rigorous and specific coaching for the UGC-NET examination,
thereby opening the avenues of teaching and research to its students. There is a
galaxy of eminent experts as consultants and resource persons for the cell. It is
continuously surveying the employment market for identifying the employment opportunities
for its students.
Activities during 2006-07:

4 students were selected and got appointment as ‘Post
Graduate Teachers in Sanskrit’ at Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham Schools.

A seminar on “The Career Prospects” has been organised
in association with the Press Information Bureau, Government of India as a part
of their “Bharat Nirman” Campaign.
·
In association of the Frankfinn Institute Coimbatore,
conducted an “Interactive Session” on “The Courses & Opportunities in Airlines”.
3 students were selected by the Institute for higher studies and better careers.
·
The ICICI Prudential has arranged a Recruitment Stall
in the campus for 2 days and many of the final year degree students have enrolled
in their database against the likely to arise vacancies in ICICI Prudential.
·
About 20 students from final year BSc Chemistry have
participated in a ‘Campus Recruitment Drive’ organised by the Big Leap Solutions
Ltd, Kozhikode.
·
The Eureka Forbes Ltd has made a Campus Recruitment
for the final year passed out students.
·
Conducted Group Discussions on current affairs of interest
for the final year
B Com and BBA students.
·
Resolved to conduct a ‘Competitive Aptitude Test’ for
the first year degree students to streamline and train the students reaching their
aspiring career.
